Crafted from an ultra–soft cashmere, lined with pure silk and with embroidered florals spawning throughout, the Versailles collection of heirlooms is a stunning example of refined craftsmanship. Fine embroidery is the traditional craft of creating flat or raised motifs by hand. Ornamenting each garment began with a design which was pricked out on a paper pattern, then transferred to the fabric using a special blend (of resin and chalk). The embroidery materials were attached one by one using a needle and it took on average 20 hours to make up a just a small sample, which was then presented in a frame. It took six months to complete each piece.
